Rules & Regulations for contest participants

  • The Flanders' Modelling Festival is open to all plastic modellers, members of IPMS or not.
  • Three awards are presented in each category: Winner, Highly Commended and Commended. Furthermore, sponsors present the traditional additional prizes.
  • Each competitor may enter in all categories and with more than one model per category. Only the model with the highest score per category can win a prize.
  • An entry fee of 1,50 euro per pre-registered model is charged, payable on the day of the competition. Registering on the day of the competition will cost 3 euros per model.
  • Pre-registration is possible by March 3, 2008 at the latest. Forms received with a post date later than March 3, 2008 will be charged the same fee as entries on the day of the competition.
  • All models are to be built mainly of plastic or resin, except for the categories FM, FF, FB, S1, S2 and S3.
  • Conversion of military vehicles means converting from one type to another. Models converted using commercial or home-made conversions have to be entered in the appropriate category, except for military vehicles.
  • Scratch-built models are custom-built, unobtainable from trade. They may be made of different materials but must be composed of at least 60 percent of plastic.
  • A diorama is considered to be more than just a flat surface. It is a base for a model that must also contain additional details such as figures, buildings, trees, ground support equipment, etcetera.
  • Juniors (under 18 years of age) will register their models irrespective of subject or scale in their own category. They will be judged accordingly.
  • Models entered in a previous edition of Flanders' Contest may not be re-entered.
  • Each category will be judged by three judges who will give points to the five best models. Members of the jury will not judge a category in which they have entered a model.
  • Decisions made by the Competition Committee are not open to discussion.
  • If there are not enough entries in a certain category, models registered in that category will be put in the most similar category.
  • Registration to the competition implies full acceptance and agreement with the competition rules by the competitor.

Disclaimer
